LTG Announces New Executive Search Engagement - UH Director, Laboratory - Anatomical Pathology

The Leadership Talent Group (LTG) has been retained by the University Hospitals (UH), to conduct a national executive search for the position of Director, Laboratory - Anatomical Pathology.


The Director, Laboratory - Anatomical Pathology (DLAP) reports to the Vice President, Pathology & Laboratory Services, and has two managers (Cytology & Ancillary and Surgical Pathology) as direct reports with six supervisors and a total number of 166 FTEs. The role works collaboratively with the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Institute Director, Division Chiefs, Section Managers, UHLSF leadership, and system hospital laboratory and administrative leadership to ensure adequate technical and professional services that support clinical needs.


University Hospitals (UH) supports a large, complex pathology and laboratory enterprise, including one central laboratory and nine regional locations with varying degrees of pathology coverage, representing ten of thirteen sites within the UH enterprise. Anatomic Pathology operates with an approximate $30M expense budget and $50M in revenue, supporting a laboratory workforce of approximately 910 FTEs across multiple departments and regions. Digital Pathology is currently in use, with approximately 25% of primary diagnoses rendered digitally and active business planning underway for expansion.
