June 2026 LTG Announces Executive Search Completion - Bon Secours, USA Director - Fund Development The Leadership Talent Group (LTG) is pleased to announce that Sarah Phillips has joined the Sisters of Bon Secours, USA as the Director - Fund Development (DFD), effective August 2026. As DFD, Phillips will be responsible for the general administration of philanthropic activities for the Sisters of Bon Secours’ ministries in the USA, enriching the mission and sustaining the future growth of the organization. This leadership role serves as a stimulus for shaping the vision, future direction, sustainability, and legacy of the Sisters of Bon Secours, USA. In this inaugural position, the DFD is the primary ombudsperson to a variety of community, governmental, educational, and private institutional stakeholders. Phillips will take direct responsibility for all aspects of fund development, including: grant writing and proposal submission; capital campaigns; major gifts; donor management systems, reporting, and analytics; legacy giving; relationships with individual and family contributors, non-profit organizations, alumni and current Bon Secours Health and Bon Secours Mercy employees, Friends of Bon Secours; and religious and educational institutions. Phillips has over 25 years of experience in development roles. In Phillips’ most recent role of Director of Development at the George Washington University School of Business in Washington, DC, she managed a portfolio of donors and prospects in order to secure and steward major and principal gifts for the School’s diverse priorities. Previously, she served as Associate Director of Development at the University of Michigan Rackham Graduate School in Ann Arbor, MI. Phillips received her Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from the Graham School of Management at Saint Xavier University in Chicago, IL, and her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Anthropology from the College of Sciences and Humanities at Ball State University in Muncie, IN. She earned a certificate in Leadership from Wharton Executive Education at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. In this role, Dr. Bernard will serve as a facility liaison at Prince William Medical Center (PWMC) and Haymarket Medical Center (HAMC) and promoter of the interrelationships between the medical staff, administration, and hospital departments in pursuit of the highest appropriate levels of medical care. He will be responsible for the evaluation and impartial application of medical staff organizational functions as set forth in the medical staff bylaws and policies developed by the medical board and approved by the Board of Trustees. In collaboration with UVA Health, market and facility leadership, the CCO has accountability for physician performance, as well as the development and implementation of identified growth and strategy initiatives.
